Author Event: Gene Slater, "Freedom to Discriminate" In-Person
Author Gene Slater will speak about his new book Freedom to Discriminate, How Realtors Conspired to Segregate Housing and Divide America. The book uncovers realtors' role in segregating America and shaping modern conservative ideology. Drawing on confidential documents from leaders of the real estate industry, Mr. Slater reveals how realtors created and justified residential segregation.
Gene Slater has served as senior advisor on housing for federal, state and local agencies for over 40 years. Slater co-founded and chairs CSG Advisors, which has been one of the nation's leading advisors on affordable housing. His projects have received numerous nationals awards. He holds degrees from Columbia, MIT, and Stanford.
