Vocalist/Pianist/Author Marianne Kent Performance and Book Talk. In-Person
Vocalist/Pianist/Author Marianne Kent entertains, sings, and plays the beautiful baby grand piano in the Oak Room.
Join us for Marianne's humorous stories and songs featured in her recent memoir, "Famous in California." **
She started her singing career at the Club Bonanza in the wild Last Frontier of Fairbanks in 1959, the year Alaska became a state. Soon after, she was producing and starring in San Francisco convention shows. The most entertaining songs were those she composed for San Francisco's Chief of Protocol Charlotte Shultz who hired her to honor celebrities by composing songs for her husband, former Secretary of State George Shultz, and for Henry Kissinger, Prime Minister Tony Blair, Senator Dianne Feinstein, and many others.
It is December so she might even throw in a few holiday songs!
** Paperback "Famous in California," for sale on Amazon for $32.95, will be available for purchase on December 11 at half-price or $17. You might enjoy the show more if you read the book in advance. If you buy it from Amazon and bring it in person to this event, Marianne will re-imburse $16 of the $32.95 you will be charged for the online purchase.
