Adrian Miller is a James Beard Award-winning author, speaker, and certified barbecue judge based in Denver, Colorado. From 1999 to 2001, he served as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton on the Initiative for One America, the first White House office focused on racial, religious, and ethnic reconciliation. He later worked as a senior policy analyst for Colorado Governor Bill Ritter Jr. Adrian is the author of four books exploring the contributions of African American and Asian heritage chefs to American food and presidential history.
Deborah Chang is a graduate of the Napa Valley Culinary School and has cooked in several Bay Area restaurants. She has developed award-winning recipes for Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt and the National Peanut Board, and contributed to a cookbook for Insalata’s, a Mediterranean restaurant in Marin County. Deborah holds degrees from Stanford University and the University of Michigan Law School. Her diverse professional background includes work as an attorney, tech executive, and career counselor. Her writing has appeared in publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle, The Hill, and Bridge Eight Literary Press. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two daughters.
