Linda Shiue, MD, Chef, Dip ABLM is an internal medicine, lifestyle and culinary medicine physician, professionally trained chef and cookbook author. Dr Shiue is the Director of Culinary Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, where she founded Thrive Kitchen, a teaching kitchen for patients, as well as an innovative Consultation Service in Lifestyle Medicine and Culinary Medicine. She is the author of an award-winning, plant-forward cookbook, Spicebox Kitchen: Eat Well and Be Healthy with Globally Inspired, Vegetable-Forward Recipes (Balance, 2021). Dr. Shiue also created a culinary medicine elective at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J Tyson School of Medicine, where she is an Associate Professor. She serves on the boards of San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Meals of Wheels San Francisco and the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative. Dr. Shiue graduated from Brown University, trained at UCSF, San Francisco Cooking School, and the kitchen of the Michelin-starred restaurant, Mourad, and has a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell.
