Laurel Anne Hill—author and former underground storage tank operator—classifies her third award-winning novel, PLAGUE OF FLIES: REVOLT OF THE SPIRITS, 1846, as historical fantasy/magical realism. Plague of Flies has received 17 awards and some terrific professional reviews. Her spirits-meet-steampunk novel, THE ENGINE WOMAN’S LIGHT has won 13 honors and awards plus a Kirkus Star. Over 30 of Laurel’s short stories and many of her short nonfiction pieces have been published. Laurel joined California Writers Club SF Peninsula Branch 25 years ago.
