Drawing from her experience writing about Italians during World War II in the U.S. and Sicily, the lecturer will illustrate how personal anecdotes, cultural traditions, and geopolitical events intersect to create rich, authentic narratives.

During this Zoom event, you will learn techniques for uncovering family stories through research and archival exploration while discovering how to weave them into broader historical contexts. The author will share her "behind the scenes" of developing her first novel to demonstrate how personal stories can reveal universal themes of resilience, identity, and change, offering valuable insight into the creative process of historical fiction writing.
