Writers Helping Writers - Writing What You Use To Know

Writers Helping Writers - Writing What You Use To Know In-Person

We’ve all heard the advice about writing what we know. Time, however, has the nasty habit of slipping through our busy fingers. Memories play hide-and-seek among the storage bins of our brains. Whether we write fiction, nonfiction or both, sooner or later the keys to knowledge rust—if they can be found at all. Award-winning author Laurel Anne Hill, who started writing and forgetting at an early age, will share her approach to writing what she used to know. And she would love to hear your experiences on the topic.

About Speaker: author and former underground storage tank operator—classifies her third award-winning novel, PLAGUE OF FLIES: REVOLT OF THE SPIRITS, 1846, as historical fantasy/magical realism. So far, Plague of Flies has received 16 awards and some terrific professional reviews. Her second novel, THE ENGINE WOMAN’S LIGHT has won a total of 13 honors and awards. Over 30 of Laurel’s short stories and many of her short nonfiction pieces have been published. She served as Fault Zone: Editor-in-Chief for three of its nine anthologies. Laurel has been a member of CWC for over 20 years. More information at https://laurelannehill.com
