Seed Library Grand Opening

Seed Library Grand Opening In-Person

Interested in planting a vegetable garden, or growing flowers as food and habitat for bees and birds? Already have a vegetable garden but want to try something new? Join us for the launch of our seed library, and choose some organic, non-GMO, open-pollinated vegetable, herb, and flower seeds to take home and plant. Growing instructions for each type of seed are provided.

The seed library launch will follow a 10:30-11:30 Master Gardener presentation on growing vegetables. Join us for:

  • An introduction to the seed library and how it works

  • Seeds from the seed library to take home and plant

  • Plant swap with plant starts for your garden

  • Seed swap: if you have extra packets of seeds purchased in the past year and would like to swap for other types of seeds, bring them in to share and swap with others

Planting vegetables from seed is a fulfilling adventure, provides you with highly nutritious food, helps support pollinator birds and bees, increases biodiversity, provides a connection to nature, and much more! Saving seeds from your harvest and replanting or sharing with others is also a way to live sustainably, reducing dependence on commercial farming.

This project was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
